Store Manager / Business Development Manager – (Cosmetics, Hair & Beauty)

Salary: £19,500 - £21,500 (£28k OTE) with Private Health Care & Staff Discounts.

Established since 1954 with 33 stores nationwide & 300 staff along with an exciting 5 years plan for future growth, this retailer specialises in selling hair & beauty products to the public as well as local businesses within the industry and is seeking a skilled and experienced Store Manager with the ability to work within a structured sales focused environment, as well as have a flair for sales and business development.

Experience in the cosmetics industry is desired but not essential; however a personal interest in selling these products is a MUST!


The Role
  • As Store Manager you will be accountable for the overall responsibility for the store and staff, ensuring maximised sales and achieved targets
  • You will oversee customer service standards whilst ensuring a motivated team and happy environment for your staff and customers
  • As a Store Manager you will also be responsible for generating new business, through cold calling & client visits to new and existing businesses in the area
  • You will be knowledgeable on the industry, competitors, and clients in your local area and have the autonomy to put forward new and exciting ideas that will benefit the business and your store
  • As a Store Manager lead by from the front and be accountable for staff training, development & product knowledge, ensuring a motivated team at all times
  • You will also oversee the recruitment of new staff, ensuring new members have a positive impact on the team
  • You will conduct staff meetings and set individual & team targets with, incentives to drive sales, promote special events, and ensure a professional service is delivered at all times
  • As a Store Manager you will oversee store housekeeping, visual merchandising, store security & stock control

Ideal Candidate
  • 2 years plus Store Management experience, with a previous track record working within a structured environment with a flair for sales

  • Some experience of business development & cold calling is desirable, with a good knowledge of the industry and local businesses in your area

  • To be suitable for the role of Store Manager, you will have the ability to work to and achieve sales targets, leading from the front at all times

  • Experience in the cosmetics industry is desired but not essential; however a personal interest in selling these products is a MUST!
