Head of Finance - London E17
Salary: £60,000 per annum + Bonus & Benefits

A successful, multi-channel retailer with 130 stores nationwide is currently recruiting for a Head of Finance to oversee a busy Accounts Department. This role will be responsible for the service delivery of the Accounts Department and the management of 6 direct reports, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This role forms an integral part of our business.
This role is suitable for an experienced, qualified, dynamic, ambitious individual with strong leadership skills. The role is fast paced and requires someone who can work well under pressure, has the ability to multitask and can deliver to tight deadlines. Experience of managing an Accounts Department essential. ACCA, CIMA OR ACA full or part qualified is desirable.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Overall responsibility for the Accounts Department and a large team of staff.
  • Ensure that a first class Accounts service is delivered to the business.
  • Manage and lead a busy Accounts team ensuring efficiency of day to day accounts activity.
  • Ensure processes and controls are followed through for timely and accurate information.
  • Advise on the resource requirements for the team from time to time.
  • Aid and prepare forecasts and budgets and compare to actuals on a monthly basis.
  • Dovetail the finance function with various other departments especially Buying, Merchandising, HR and Payroll.
  • Provide adequate report and analyse store performance, reporting any deviations to the FD.
  • Ensure that all compliances with HMRC are adhered to.
  • Provide monthly management information for discussion with the FD
  • Analysis of all costs centres and advise on efficiencies and savings.
  • Liaise with the purchase ledger supervisor for effective supplier management
  • Maintain the company asset register for any additions and disposals.
  • Maintain supervise and control the property ledger of circa 130 stores.
  • Additional duties to support the FD from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
  • Approve all department annual leave requests in line with needs of the department and business.
  • Create a high performance work culture amongst accounts team, with regular team update meetings to discuss work load, current and future projects as well as continued improvements
  • Hold annual appraisals with direct reports and identify any training needs.
  • Adhere to all polices and lead by example.
  • Build and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, superiors and external partners.
  • Effectively communicate with Store and Head Office Departments, complying with internal processes.
